Jerry is a gem. I went to him injured. I was trying to lose weight and take up running. The diet I did on my own, but Jerry encouraged me, laughed at me, asked me what I had for dinner. He taught me to run correctly with these weird “hing exercises”, balance stuff, and flexibility training. Six months later I am down 70 lbs, I can run a 10k with ease, and recently started training for my second 10 miler. At 58, I am healthier than I have ever been and I give Jerry so much credit. He is a gem.

The General Fitness Company is a fantastic gym due in large part to its energetic and extremely knowledgeable owner, Jerry Washington. Jerry is a fabulous trainer--motivating, funny and dedicated. He works closely with each client to tailor every training session to fit individual needs, with a particularly keen eye towards areas of improvement, personal strengths and endurance. He pushes his clients, offering creative challenges, but always has reasonable expectations and listens to all concerns and questions. I sought out General Fitness Company as I had been experiencing lower back pain for a long time. During my first visit, Jerry evaluated my range of mobility, strength, and asked about my diet, lifestyle, and my fitness goals. Jerry is the best! He makes working out fun. He very quickly pinpointed areas of need, and after discussing my goals he created a personalized and innovative workout with new wrinkles at every session. Highly recommend!!!!

Jerry is the best! He helped me feel strong, confident, and capable. He accommodates to individual needs very well (whether it be current ability and/or injury) while still occasionally pushing me to my limits which was a great balance.
